Carte Blanche to 3-ACT Magazine

Next section: Special Screenings

3-ACT Cinema Magazine is dedicated to filmmakers to be aware of the language of cinema and to be critical on local contemporary cinema landscape and national film heritage. To represent the nature of narrative in what we do, we name ourselves 3-ACT. Its ambition is to build a profound collection of words and images to celebrate cinema as art, knowledge ,inspiration and enjoyment. It is to develop a cinema magazine devoid of common tabloids on films in Myanmar. Rather, it is to offer curated articles which have an in-depth focus on local cinema and which address film as art that provokes to rethink cinema’s current standing in Myanmar.
There are three acts in the magazine: (ACT-1) Local Cinema Landscape, (ACT-2) Moving an Image, (ACT-3) Cinematic Language.
Each and every issue of 3-ACT is constructed with a specific theme as a special feature. It is brought to life by the collaboration of our team of contributing editors and guestwriters. As an independent, non-commerical-driven publication, 3-ACT Cinema Magazine solely relies on the support of its readers and sponsors.
We were given by MEMORY! Film Festival the free choice to select films for the screening. The curation of films of 3-ACT section is to reflect the editorial content of the cinema magazine 3-ACT that was launched in May. 3-ACT Cinema Magazine is dedicated to filmmakers to be aware of the language of cinema and to be critical on local contemporary cinema landscape and national film heritage.
In CARTE BLANCHE to 3-ACT, you will mainly experience international films that we highlighted in ACT-3 of Issue 1, which was launched in May, 2018 and ACT-3 of Issue 2, published in November, 2018. We focused on some directors who really stroke us and inspired us according to our work as filmmakers but also to share with our readers.
We hope 3-ACT to act as your support essential in studying and experiencing the selected journey of films – from the birth of cinema to the varied stylistic experiments throughout the world.
