Myanmar Script Fund

ANNOUNCEMENT

Laureates 2016

Myanmar Script Fund is a new program for emerging local filmmakers working on their first or second full-length feature films. The Fund’s objective is to support emerging filmmakers during the development process and to assist them in honing their professional skills. The program include professional meetings (individual consultancies on script-writing and plenary sessions) and also pitch sessions in front of the MSF jury.
The Myanmar Script Fund 2016 has taken place in Yangon from the 5th to the 8th of November, as part of the MEMORY! Film Festival. For this first edition, nine promising candidates was selected.

Oscar-Winner Michel Hazanavicius, President of the Jury, announced on November 8th at the awards for Myanmar Script Fund 2016. The Award Ceremony was hosted by Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, in presence of U Lu Min, President of MMPO & Patron of the Myanmar Script Fund.
After deliberation of the jury, and according the quality of the finalists projects, decision was made to award 3 projects:

Jury Award
Mg Sun, director, Ma Aeint, producer & scriptwriter, for the film project FOUR LEGS
The MSF Jury Award comprises participation to the FAMU Summer Filmmaking Initiation Campus 2017 for the director & the producer. More information on this A-level 5-weeks program here

International Development Award
Nwaye Zar Che Soe, director & scriptwriter, Soe Arkar Htun, producer, for the film project SATURDAY BORN ARIES
The MSF International Development Award comprises participation to an international festival in 2017 for the director.

Special Jury Mention
Thet Oo Maung, director, Isaac Kyaw Htu Hla, scriptwriter, Robert Winn Htein, producer, for the film project WISDOM
